Kat & Laurie 24

Our stay in Koh Chang was just wonderful. We stayed there for almost three weeks (we unfortunately had to be in another place earlier), but we would stay much longer if we could.

Normally there are two daily shifts (morning or afternoon) and with the other volunteers we were choosing and agreeing on the schedule. The job was to feed the dogs, give some of them their medicines, clean them and around them (Puko <3) and making sure that they are comfortable and loved. We were also taking them out for walks and sometimes helping with changing some of their bandages. Some of them are old or disabled, so it was great to learn how to take care of them too.

We also had the opportunity to join the street team, to feed and vaccinate the stray dogs around the island. The fact that we learned how to give vaccines to dogs and cats was absolutely incredible! Mo’s team is super fun, sweet and welcoming – we will definitely miss them.

The house was great, very comfortable, with all you need. Ourselves we were staying in the second house called the Riverhouse, which is just down the road from the main house. It was also amazing, probably a bit quieter and just next to the river. We loved it.

The island is gorgeus – there’s a lot of things to see, the nature and the sea are breathtaking (white sand beaches, mountains, waterfalls). We were provided with the motorbikes to explore the area. We were there during the rain season and honestly, we are super glad, as there was less tourists around and the island was still super beautiful.

Agnieszka was very helpful and sweet. She was always trying to make sure that everything was there for us, the moment we needed it. Jeszcze raz dziekujemy za wszystko! Also Pa, we love you Pa!

We fell in love with the dogs so much – it’s been only two days since we’ve left and we’re already missing them.
We were also lucky to have a great team of other volunteers from different countries, so we could get to know a bit more about different cultures.

To sum up! We couldn’t recommend this place more. We are definitely going to come back.
Merci! Dziekujemy!
